This is the start of my Winning Chess Tournaments series, based on my ebook of the same title.
WARNING: If you're looking for theory...find another website! I am only interested in PRACTICAL RESULTS...I hope you are too.
Today we look at the overview of what you can expect and at the same time answering the question: What does it take to win a chess tournament?
This material applies to everyone from World Champion to beginner. Let's begin...
The key element to winning a chess tournament is a burning desire. This desire will carry you through the hardwork & preparation. If you don't have a strong enough purpose you will give up quickly and find 1000 reasons why you cannot do it. You will also procrastinate easily. There lies some work ahead...I can't do it for you! Forget about willpower...the key is consistent effort- even when you don't feel like it. So make up your mind...do you really want to be a tournament winner?
The second requirement is what I call winning-potential. This winning potential consists of time, effort, the right mindset & resources. The effective application of time & effort, supported by a positive mindset and quality resources will increase your chances/potential. Please remember that your biggest resource is YOU. You can't prepare for & win a tournament being tired, not getting enough sleep & being out of shape. This increases the chances of that "lapse of concentration" that you always complain about. I'll also show you where to get quality opening info...FOR FREE!
Next...we need to grow your middlegame strength...fast. I have actually designed a system for this. Through using this proven system some student have gone from Elo:1100 to 1700 playing strength in 7weeks! For you stronger guys...ever evaluate a position in 3-4min & came-up with the right positional/tactical plan...let me show you how! This is real power...and the crux of the course.
Now that you're a better player- how about evaluating your opponent & youself. I will show you how to come up with a specific gameplan that will blow your opposition right out of the water!
Finally, we work on some preparation tips, tournament strategy & some solid endgame skills.
